7 No-fail Steps To Quitting Smoking By Cold Turkey Method

By: Welldec

Those who choose to go Cold Turkey and break the smoking habit quickly, rather than rely on drugs to help them quit, have the advantage of knowing that they will soon be enjoying the satisfaction of quitting and the sense of wellbeing, good health and financial benefits of being a non-smoker.

As a '20 or more' a day smoker in the 70's, deciding to give up smoking was not easy. Most of my friends smoked then and there were no restrictions on where you could smoke. Smoking was accepted very readily just about everywhere you went. It made it very difficult to break the habit when so many around you, wherever you went, were smoking.

Consequently the failure rate was very high. Once you accepted 'just one' cigarette at the club, pub or restaurant you were back to square one.

There was little talk of the harmful effects of smoking until the mid 70's, but, when smokers realized the harm they were doing to themselves, the need to quit took on new proportions and more and more quit the habit. Many of my friends, who were heavy smokers, quit Cold Turkey. There were no other options.

As the harmful effects of smoking became more recognized in the 70's, and sensible people realized the harm they were doing to their health, more and more smokers decided to quit the habit. 'Cold turkey' was the only way to go in those days and many heavy smokers broke the habit.

Surely it must be easier to quit now when smokers are in the minority and smoking is banned in so many places like pubs, clubs and restaurants.

Here are 7 No Fail Steps for you to take to Quit Smoking.

1. It is vital that you firmly make up your mind to quit and that you don't go back.

2. Analyze your reasons for quitting - health, environment, cost etc.

3. Know clearly why it is you want to quit.

4. Visualize and feel the benefits - improved taste and smell, feel better, more fit and active etc.

5. You must adopt the attitude and belief that you are already a Non-smoker; I DO NOT SMOKE!!

6. Never, ever, light a smoke again - NEVER EVER.

7. Commit yourself to quit and go for it. Once you are committed, the quicker you do it the better.

Just go for it!! You Can Do It!
