Binge Eating Is Not A Form Of Dieting

By: Jeff Foster..

There is certainly no shortage of advice these days when it comes to dieting. Generally a large portion of the advice is centered around what you should eat and what you should not eat. Although what you eat certainly plays a large role in the success of any diet, it isn't the only component to a successful diet. Many times is the case the one's eating habits are getting in the way of their diet strategy.

When you should and shouldn't eat. That is as important as what you eat. Why is it important? It is important because you don't want to binge eat. You don't want to eat a whole bunch of food at one time. This isn't good for you.

A typical scenario would be for you to skip any breakfast... and lunch is completely paltry (or vise versa). Maybe something to drink along the way. Maybe some crackers... maybe not. By the time you get home from work you are so hungry suddenly everything looks good. So everything it is. And as a result, you overeat. From there, all you can muster up is to watch a bit of TV and you even fall asleep doing that.

Is effectively eating your three meals a day crammed into one the same thing? Not hardly. It's simple. Your body cannot handle eating all of that food at one time. It is trying to tell you that by making you sleepy. By consuming all of your meals in just one sitting, your body has to call upon all the energy it can from your body just to do the digestion.

In this type of eating scenario, all you are accomplishing is overloading your body's digestive system. In a sense, you have just binge ate. This is a eating habit that you must avoid when you are trying to lose or get your weight under control.

This unhealthy eating habit occurs because you have driven your body to the point that it must have some type of nourishment and this is not good for you from a health stand point or a diet stand point.

You can snack in between those meals too. You want to make sure though that your snacks are healthy ones. Did you know that most doctors say that snacking is good for you? It gives you some energy when you are feeling like you are running on empty.

Again, the key to having a snack between your meals if it is a healthy snack. Remember, foods that are high in fat will actually only have you feeling more drained and will actually stimulate your appetite for more.

Changing your eating habits to having three smaller meals per day is the goal. Even if you seem to struggle to do this, be patient and persistent... do not allow the binge eating cycle to get started.

Remember that if your eatings habits involve starving yourself all day long to the point of getting the shakes then eating whatever you can to make them stop; you need to change your eating habits.
