IMRadio Powers Up Small-Town Radio Station Deficiency

By: Lilia Lukas

Living in a really small town do not give you enough choices in radio stations. That is why I started looking around on the Internet for online radio stations. There is just one where my friends and I really got excited about among the many choices out there.
IMRadio became our favorite. We always have it playing in the background when we are hanging out, doing homework, or getting ready to go out. The variety of music and sheer talent really make us stop and say, "That song is really awesome!"
There are so many stations to choose from. Last time I checked, there were like 450, which is great. almost the same as YouTube for Music where music artists can upload their song files, just like anyone can upload their videos on YouTube.
Whenever you live in a small town, you would be left behind on new music details. We can now listen to newest bands, freshest songs from artists all over the United States through IMRadio. We no longer feel like we are the country bumpkins who never get to hear the hottest music.
Most of the songs on IMRadio would be considered rock, which my friends and I are happy about since rock is our favorite type of music. Without IMRadio, listening to this number of cool artists will never be possible. What is so ironic about this is that compared to those songs you hear on traditional radio and Top 40 charts, these songs really sound better. So much better!
A few bands have really stood out to us, to the point where we are positive they are destined for fame. We really like the feature that lets the fans communicate with their favorite bands. Although, we do not have any intention of forming long-term friendships or stalk the bands or anything. But just letting them know that we are out there and admiring the songs they are singing is such a good feeling.
As you scroll down a bit on the IMRadio's home page, you will see a "Featured Bands" header with images that look like little CD covers. One of my favorite things to do is click on a random image and then start listening to a song by that artist. I guess I'm kind of ADD because, if the song doesn't grab me, I move on until I find a song that does. It's kind of like hitting the "seek" button on your car radio to hear what's playing on another channel before you decide what to listen to, only the music is edgier.
